Scott M. Hartinger is a 1993 graduate of Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He received his J.D. in 1996 from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Following law school, Mr. Hartinger served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable James L. Ryan in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland (1996-1997).

Mr. Hartinger practices in both Maryland and the District of Columbia, where he is admitted to practice by the following courts: Court of Appeals of Maryland, United States District Court for the District of Maryland, United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, District of Columbia Court of Appeals, United States District Court for the District of Columbia, United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

His areas of practice include: personal injury, workers’ compensation, business litigation, traffic/criminal and domestic relations.  He has been recognized in 2009 and 2010 as a Rising Star in the area of Plaintiff’s Personal Injury law by Super Lawyers magazine. 

Mr. Hartinger is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Frederick County Bar Association (President 2009, President-elect 2008, Treasurer 2007, and Secretary 2006), and the Montgomery County Bar Association. He was awarded the honor of the James McSherry Memorial Award in October 2010 for service to the Bar Association of Frederick County.  He is a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation (2011-present); a certified mediator for the Circuit Court for Frederick County (2011-present); Attorney Grievance Commission Peer Review Committee (2011-2012); Mentor in the Mentoring Program for New Admittees (2010-present). 

Through Bar Association activities as well as through individual efforts, he has been involved in volunteer efforts for various organizations throughout the community including being a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Frederick County.

Scott resides in Middletown with his wife Jennifer and their children, Thomas and Kate.
